Hey guys so sorry but this is the last post I'm going to be making on this blog. I really enjoyed making this blog though. I also really appreciate all you guys that have come on this blog and read all my post. It really makes me happy that you guys enjoy my work. So since this is my last post I want to make so of it meaningful and make to educational as well so lets get right into it.
So lets recap all that we have learned about so far. We have learned about some of the myths regarding Zeus such as his birth and one of his most dramatic affairs. (Most dramatic I think) We have also learned a lot about Zeus' "special family" meaning his affairs thats have given him more children. I think that all that we have learned is really interesting and that it was really fun writing this blog. Thanks a lot from reading my blog and I am do another one of these so stay tuned and once again thanks. As you may know Zeus had many affairs, and I mean MANY affairs. In doing so he expanded his family tree a lot and that is why he has such a big family tree. Zeus' parents were Cronus and Rhea. His wife was named Hera and she wasn't the nicest person in the world. In fact she is probably the meanist goddess you will hear about. He had one affair with Demeter which created Persephone. He also had some kids with Hera but since that was his actually his wife so those weren't affairs. He is the father of apollo and artemis who were given birth too by Leto. He was also the father of the nine muses and the three fates which were from mnemosyne and themis. Zeus also had an affair with Maia and had hermes and penelope. Along with that he had dionysus with semele. As you can see Zeus had many affairs and along with those he had many children from other women. I hope you liked this weeks post and I know this one was a little wierd but, so was he! Have a nice week. Nina out.
Source: Zeus' family tree Hello again! As you might know Zeus had many affairs. So many that I couldn't even show you but I want to tell you about one of them. This particular myth is a little weird just warning you in advance but I think it is a fairly thought out one. So this is how it goes.
One day Zeus when down to Earth to be with one of the many women that he loved. Knowing that all gods could see down on earth Zeus put a cloud in the sky to shield Hera from seeing Io and Zeus together. Hera on the other hand was suspicious of the cloud and figured that is had something to do with Zeus so she parted the cloud. Zeus was quick though and turned Io into a cow. Hera once again had her suspicions and asked Zeus that if this was no ordinary cow that he was "hanging out with" to give her the cow as a present. So he did and Hera hired a monster with a thousand eyes to make sure Zeus wasn't to come any where near Io. Zeus though coudn't bare to be without Io so he called for his son Hermes to come and slay the guardian which he did by lured him to sleep with his reed pipes and then killing him. Harsh right. Anyways when Hera found out that the giant was dead she became very sad and so to remember him she put all his eyes on the tops of the feather of her favorite bird; the peacock. I love that idea and I think that this story is very throuoly thought out. Hope you enjoyed this weeks post and I hope to see you again on this website! Hello fellow myth lovers. Want to know about a little more (actually a lot more) about Zeus? Well if you didn't want to know about Zeus you wouldn't be at this site, but lets move on to some facts. Most of you probably know this but Zeus' parents were named Cronus and Rhea. This may come as a shock to you but his dad actually ate all his other brothers and sisters until one day when Rhea gave him a stone baby which of couse he ate as well which cause him to barf up all his other children. When Zeus was born Rhea did not tell Cronus about him knowing that he would eat him too. Now you can't blam Cronus 100% becuase he still did have a meaning to his madness. The reason he ate all his children was becuase one day they wouldn't (and now couldn't) take his power from him .Since Rhea finally realized that he would eat she didn't tell Cronus (like I said earlier) and raised Zeus on an island far away from Cronus until he had the power to take him on in a dual! Some say that this dual (wasn't actually a dual) consisted of Zeus (Duh) Hades, and Poseidon. (and Cronus) But some also say that it was just Zues and Cronus. Let me know what you think is the correct version of what was actually believed in the comments below and enjoy this cool video too. See you again soon and I hope you like this weeks post. (I think this video is part of a video game just so you know) Hello. My name is Nina and I am making this blog to discover more about Zeus, for example I want to know more about his family tree and such. Just to tell you I pretty much got all of my information from my sister book, Greek Myths and Legends.
I chose this topic becuase I am very interested in the relationship between topics and how they have changed, yet sill have communicated the same meaning. Also I chose this topic becuase I am very excited to go into deapth about different types of myths and find out things most people dont know about in myths. I am very interested in greek methology and so I think that writting this blog will allow me to be able to enjoy the myths even more. This blog I think will also give me the chance to open up to different interperations and that everyone has a different spin on different topics for discussions. Another item that I am interested in about writing this blog is the fact that billions of people will now be able to see the hard work and decdication of time that I have put into being able share this blog on the internet. |
